WhatsApp made an important warning from its support page about the future of its messaging service.
The app, which has more than 2 billion users, will stop working on
43 cell phone models
as of November 1.
"WhatsApp will end support for phones with Android 4.0.4 or earlier from November 1, 2021. We recommend switching to a compatible device or saving your chat history before that date," says the report published by the service. Messenger service.
WhatsApp revealed that, as of that date, the oldest version that will continue to be supported is Android 4.1, provided that the user's cell phone can "receive SMS or calls during the number verification process."
The measure of the messenger, owned by Facebook, will also have consequences on computers equipped with Apple's iOS 10 operating system and KaiOS 2.5.1.
These modifications were already revealed last March by the technological site WABetainfo.
The teams that will be left without WhatsApp
According to what was revealed by the messaging app, it is estimated that there are 43 cell phone models from Samsung, Apple, Huawei, ZTE and Alcatel, among others, which will not have access to the service as of November 1.
The company clarified that users who have these devices and want to continue using WhatsApp "must upgrade to a newer model of phone that has an operating system compatible with the company, or use a completely different messaging service."
Therefore, the computers that will be without access to WhatsApp from November 1 will be:
iPhone 6S Plus was released in 2015.
The first generation iPhone SE, 6s and 6s Plus, with iOS 10 operating system, will be the first to go without using the messenger.

For its part, LG confirmed the Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus F5, Optimus L5, Optimus L5 II, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus L7 II , Optimus F6, Enact, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus L4 II, Optimus L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD and 4X HD and Optimus F3Q.
The phones of the Chinese brand Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S and Ascend D2.
The measure also includes the ZTE Grand S Flex, ZTE V956, Grand X Quad V987 and Grand Memo devices.
Japanese devices Sony Xperia Miro, Sony Xperia Neo L and Xperia Arc S will also have WhatsApp use restricted.
Lastly, the Alcatel One Touch Evo 7, Archos 53 Platinum, HTC Desire 500, Caterpillar Cat B15, Wiko Cink Five, Wiko Darknight, Lenovo A820, UMi X2, Faea F1 and THL W8.
