Actor Michael Konstantin, one of the big stars of the movie "My Greek Wedding", passed away at the age of 94. Konstantin played Gus, the father of Tula Portoclos (Nia Verdelos), the star who falls in love with an American guy of non-Greek descent. Constantine's agent confirmed his death. The film "My Greek Wedding" was released on April 19, 2002. It grossed about $ 368 million, and became one of the most profitable films of that year. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay.
Before becoming a star thanks to "My Greek Wedding" (and of course thanks to the sequel, "My Greek Wedding" 2), Constantine starred in several television series, including the comedy "Room 222" which aired on ABC between 1969 and 1974. Thanks to his role in this series, Constantine was twice nominated for an Emmy Award - in 1970 and a year later. In 1971 he even won the coveted award. At the same time he was a guest on "Remington Steel" as well as "Law and Order".
