The maker of OPPO smartphones from the Chinese BBK corporation - under which there are well-known brands such as Realme, OnePlus and Vivo - which is also making its way to Israel - continues to storm the local market with new devices with a low price tag.

We received the OPPO Reno6 model for review from the official importer, the Runlight Group, near the launch of the device in Israel.

Its price in Israel is NIS 1,999, and among other things, you will receive a charge from 0% to 100% in 30 minutes and a super prestigious aluminum structure.

Design: The individual who makes the difference

One of the appealing things about Reno6 is the design that gives a very luxurious feel.

The smartphone itself is made entirely of aluminum with rounded edges, straight lines and a sharp cut (some have said it is reminiscent of the iPhone 12 Pro).

Also, the back is made of a kind of frosted glass that shimmers in the light and changes colors.

Super prestigious aluminum structure.

The Reno6 incorporates an almost edgeless, edge-to-edge AMOLED 6.43-inch screen that supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

At the top left of the display is a hole for the selfie camera, the fingerprint sensor is located below the screen and at the bottom is the SIM drawer.

At the same time, OPPO also managed to maintain good dimensions, as the Reno6 is quite light and weighs only 182 grams - similar to most smartphones on the market, and its thickness is 7.6 mm. This means that it is quite comfortable to hold in the hand and does not interfere when was found in the pocket.

also, in Reno6 not find a headphone jack, but OPPO integrated wireless headset kit - something that most mobile phone manufacturers stopped making last year.

Hardware and interface

The device combines a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

It also comes with support for the fifth generation network (5G) and an extra-large battery with a capacity of 4,300 mAh, including a 65-watt charger (physically larger than any standard charger), which charges the device from 0 to 100% in half an hour.

The Reno6 comes with ColorOS 11.3, OPPO's operating system interface based on Google's Android.

And while this is not the clean version of the operating system, the menus are well-arranged and well-designed and include smart and not-too-crowded use - something that Chinese manufacturers fail at quite a bit.

For example, to maintain a cleaner look, OPPO has added an option called "Screen Display", where you can choose which apps the front camera will be hidden in a black bar while using them.

In addition, as with other manufacturers, you can choose navigation gestures (as in the iPhone) instead of a fixed navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.

Performance and battery

There are no surprises with the Reno6, it is a fast smartphone that will hardly disappoint and managed to perform any action without any problem or stuttering.

At the same time, the device maintained a low temperature even with prolonged use, even though it is made of aluminum.

This means that if you need a device for use a little beyond the basics like apps, scrolling social networks, internet and games (even a little heavy) - it may serve you great.

And yes, this is more or less what you would expect from a device with such specifications.

Beyond that, the device is equipped with a 4,300 mAh battery and a fast charge of up to 65 watts that charges it from 0% to 100% in just 30 minutes.

In practice, for a few days I finished the day when the battery reached around 15% -20% without charging it.

And let’s face it: fast charging is simply addictive.

Camera

The Reno6's main array consists of three cameras - a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and an additional 2-megapixel lens for close-up (macro) photography.

The front-facing camera (selfie) comes with a 32-megapixel sensor.

And let's talk for a moment about the quality of the photos, the least impressive part of a smartphone that pales in comparison to what you'll get with flagship devices.

In practice, the final results range from good to reasonable, with the photography system having a hard time with suboptimal lighting, even though the manual shooting mode opens up a variety of possibilities for you.

And don’t get me wrong, the main sensor is capable of providing good image quality under the right conditions.

What is meant by?

In sunny conditions the colors are exceptional and the pictures are quite high quality and clean - even in full size.

On the other hand, in photos taken inside a building with natural light, or even in areas without direct sunlight, one can notice a rather low level of detail and smearing of the object in close-up mode.

Good picture in the right conditions.

Bottom line

OPPO's Reno6 can be defined as one of the most beautiful smartphones I have encountered in recent years in the mid-range category.

And it has quite a few advantages - it offers a great screen, good performance and support for super fast charging.

On the other hand, the camera may disappoint the photography enthusiasts a bit despite the variety of options it offers.
