The launch of the James Webb space telescope is scheduled for December 18, destined to collect the legacy of the most famous of space telescopes, Hubble. This was announced in a press release by Arianespace, the company that manages the launches of the European base in Kourou (French Guiana).
Born from the collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Canadian space agency CSA, Webb will be the largest and most powerful space telescope ever launched.
To bring Hubble's successor into orbit will be a European Ariane 5 launcher, in flight VA256, the third in 2021.
