Voice messages on WhatsApp may annoy quite a few people, but there are some for whom it is very useful.

Now, according to a report by WABetaInfo, the messaging app slightly sweetens this bitter pill of digging messages, and you will soon be able to choose whether to listen to the messages or read a transcript of what was said in them.

According to a blog post, the app will transfer the audio clip to an external engine - Apple's or Google's to convert the messages to text.

To enable this you will need to give the app permission to use your information, as the messages on the platform are encrypted from end to end.

Once you provide WhatsApp permission to convert your messages, all content will be saved within the app, so you can access the "transcript" tab in the message and view the various transcripts.

However, from the footage it can be seen that the conversion of the sound segments supports English, so it is not clear when, and if at all, there will be support for Hebrew.

Initially, as with any feature in development, the update is expected to reach beta users only, and in this case only iOS users.

Also, it is not yet known when there will be support for Android versions as well.
