In two days, the young man claims to have carried out about fifty antigenic tests, although he did not have the necessary qualification.

For two days, under a barnum in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, a young student in architecture performed around fifty Covid-19 screening tests.

However, he had not taken any training issued by an authorized body, reveals France Inter on Thursday.

The amateur laboratory technician was arrested on September 12 and placed in police custody for a while.

"An investigation of the head of illegal exercise of the profession of medical laboratory technician was opened on September 12," confirms the Paris prosecutor.

Facts punishable by one year's imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros.

“The custody taken in this context was lifted for further investigation.

It was a doctor from the Porte de Versailles district who sounded the alert, reports France Inter.

Offering antigenic tests himself, he was intrigued by this competitor who had come to set up his tent nearby.

He then discovered that his own professional contact details, as well as those of a pharmacy in the area, were displayed on this new barnum as numbers to contact in the event of a problem.

The pharmacy thought it had solicited a serious company

To the investigators, the student of architecture, born in 1996, affirmed not knowing that one needed a qualification to carry out these tests.

He explained that he worked for a company commissioned by a neighborhood pharmacy to install the barnum and provide a professional in charge of the samples.

He added that once he was hired, a woman quickly showed him how to get tested.

The young man also mentioned in police custody the possibility of earning up to 4,000 euros per month.

Pharmacy officials assured investigators that they thought they had sought a serious company, specifies France Inter.
