The new Opel Astra in its latest generation is also offered to the public in a plug-in hybrid version with two power levels while, starting from 2023, the battery-electric version will arrive. Versions with diesel and petrol engines, combined with low-friction gearboxes, six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic, will be available as early as October, when Opel opens orders for the new Astra.

The range of the new Opel Astra boasts all traction options. Customers will in fact have the possibility to choose between pure electric drive, plug-in hybrid drive or the classic thermal engine. Power levels range from 110hp to 225hp - numbers that guarantee superior driving performance.

In the next generation of its compact, Opel combines driving pleasure, maximum efficiency and environmental awareness.

The top-of-the-range version is the Opel Astra plug-in hybrid.

The top-of-the-line rechargeable hybrid version offers a system power of 225 HP and a maximum torque of 360 Nm.

The exemplary interaction between the thermal engine and the electric one guarantees all the necessary power. The 1.6 four-cylinder generates 180 hp. The electric motor contributes 110 hp. Power is transmitted to the front axle via the convenient eight-speed automatic transmission.

Alternatively, a hybrid version with a system output of 180 hp is also available. Also in this case the maximum torque remains 360 Nm. In this case, the power of the petrol engine is 150 HP. The two plug-in hybrid models offer a lot of driving pleasure: they boast the acceleration of a sports car and reach a top speed of 235 and 225 km / h. For zero-emission urban driving, you can simply choose the electric mode. In that case, thanks to the 12.4 kWh battery, the new Astra Hybrid is able to travel up to about 60 kilometers in the WLTP cycle in purely electric mode. As for the thermal engines, we start from the turbo petrol 1.2-liter three-cylinder direct injection engine with a six-speed manual gearbox generating 110hp and which is also available from 130hp - with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engine generates a maximum torque of 230 Nm from 1,750 rpm. The 130hp 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel generates maximum torque of 300Nm from 1,750rpm and is available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
