“The impacts of environmental noise have a significant and often underestimated effect on the quality of life and health of European citizens”.
This is the finding established in 2020 by the European Environment Agency (EEA), which reports 12,000 cases of premature death per year due to noise pollution.
Figures which, according to the agency, could be greatly underestimated because European countries do not sufficiently measure the noise pollution suffered by their inhabitants.
