An investigation is underway following the discovery of anti-Semitic tags in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, in the agglomeration of Rouen, the prosecution said on Friday.

An investigation is underway, ”Rouen District Attorney Frédéric Teillet told an AFP correspondent.
"The tags were undoubtedly made during the night of Saturday to last Sunday on the walls of a building occupied by the INSA" (National Institute of Applied Sciences), specified a spokesperson for the PCF town hall of Saint- Etienne-du-Rouvray.

The town lodged a complaint on Wednesday for "inciting discrimination and hatred and apologizing for war crimes and crimes against humanity".
The town hall "denounces with the greatest force these unacceptable actions".
Swastikas had been drawn below the inscriptions "20 years already" and "down with the Jews", according to the town.
