I'm not excited about anything but this morning when I heard that Sarit Hadad came out of the closet at the age of 43 - I was moved to tears.

I never thought that Sarit Hadad should be forced to come out of the closet.

I always thought she should go out - but in her own time.

I never liked the arguments that she does not come out of the closet "because her family will not accept her" or "because the audience will not accept her."

I guess the family knew about her sexual orientation, probably after she gave birth to two daughters without a partner.

No one really thought otherwise.

After all, I'm very happy about the way she chose to come out of the closet: in a natural and unforced way.

In 2021 this is the right way out of the closet.

I think the audience will reward her. It's not that a new audience will come - in the end an audience comes thanks to songs and a career - but she herself will surely be different in her performances. I remember seeing Harel Skaat laughing at himself after he came out of the closet, and then I realized that his revolution was complete, that he had won. The same will happen to Sarit. She will just be different on stage and much more relaxed.

I have known Sarit Hadad for many years. She is full of humor as well as self-humor, but self-humor has never dealt with her sexual orientation. From today this will change. The Eastern audience is the first audience to embrace it. Raising the question of how he will react is unnecessary. Stop thinking that the eastern audience will run away and disappear. This is the first audience to embrace Mickey Bogen 20 years ago that it was not in the mainstream. He will come and hug Sarit Hadad hugely as well.
