Four days after the discovery of the body of the young American in a nature reserve in Wyoming (United States), investigators are still

What happened to Gabby Petito, 22, found dead last Sunday in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming (United States)?

The first results of the autopsy, announced Wednesday by the FBI, confirmed that the remains found this weekend are those of the young woman who disappeared in August during a tour of the United States with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie.

The latter is still missing and is considered "worthy of interest" by investigators who are now working on a homicide case.

Where is Brian Laundrie located?

While traveling by van since July with Gabby Petito, the 23-year-old returned alone to North Port (Florida) where he lived with the slender blonde. Brian Laundrie says he doesn't know his girlfriend's whereabouts. The latter has been missing since September 11.

A few days later, it is he who vanishes.

Since last week, vast search operations have been underway to get hold of this American who left the family home last Tuesday with a backpack on his shoulders to surrender, he warned his parents, in towards the Carlton Reserve in Sarasota County.

On Wednesday, divers arrived at the suspected site of his disappearance to probe the bodies of water, explains CNN.

For now, the investigations have yielded nothing but the research must resume this Thursday.

An altercation in a restaurant?

Video surveillance images had already disturbed: Gabby Petito, in tears in front of the police, on a road in Utah. The young woman had quarreled with Brian Laundrie on August 12, the police had been notified and the scene filmed by the camera of a police officer. This time, it is tourists from Louisiana who come to stir up trouble. While having lunch on August 27 in a restaurant in Jackson (Wyoming), about thirty minutes from Grand Teton Park, the couple allegedly witnessed an altercation between Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito.

According to their testimony to CNN, the young woman was in tears, while her boyfriend, visibly angry, stormed in and out of the restaurant.

The young man is also said to have verbally attacked the staff of the establishment.

If the FBI does not confirm having received this testimony, the American channel notes that August 27 is the date on which the young woman stopped posting her adventures on social networks.

It is also the moment when Gabby Petito's mother received a strange last text message from her daughter's cell phone ...

Investigators are calling for anyone to come forward who saw the young couple on a camping area in Grand Teton National Park between August 27 and August 30.

Tribute from Gabby's friends

The emotion spread to the small town of North Port (Florida) where Gabrielle Petito and Brian Laundrie lived.

His friends are mobilizing to pay tribute to him and a ceremony is scheduled for Saturday evening: a release of butterflies will take place at the end of the evening and candles will be lit.

“I just want her family to know that the community loved Gabby, even though we didn't all know her,” one of the event organizers told The Daily Sun.

Polemic

Since its inception, the affair has monopolized the media around the world.

But the controversy is swelling: if Gabby had not been a young blonde woman, would her disappearance have been so passionate? Some newspapers begin to wonder.

In an editorial, the New York Times argues, “It's not that white women should count less, but rather that all missing people should be equally important.

According to the reporter, who refers to "missing white woman syndrome", "race should not determine how editors decide to cover the event."

“This fascination overshadows the trauma of other missing people,” he writes, “as if non-white people never disappear.

So what if.
