Lots of unimportant news, idle conversations and unfounded opinions spread over hours and create a cacophony of unedited information spilled on viewers through the screen without filters and without judgment
The word "news" has become transparent to most of us. We consume topical editions more than any sane country, some of us justify certain behaviors "because they said in the news," and we seem to want to know all about the beautiful people who appear on our screen in the main edition. In fact, the only thing that interests the average Israeli more than what was said in the news, is what happens behind the scenes in the studio. From there, we forgot that the word "news" is a derivative of the word "new." The basic purpose of the endless editions in the variety of channels and sites is to innovate for us. A bit of a tough deal in the instant age with smartphones and pushers. How much can already be renewed?
And yet, even in the current era it is rare to see a case like the one that happened yesterday at the opening of the main edition of News 12. Yoav Even, the news company's health correspondent opened a report on a heart patient who died in a hospital in the north because he could not be resuscitated Corona patients are not vaccinated. Other journalists could have made good on this news and spread a lot of poison, but Stone's report was as matter-of-fact and dry as we would expect from a person who had passed away. But then, immediately after the report, there was an article prepared ahead of time for an edition about the severe shortage of eco-machines due to the unvaccinated epidemic, and the fear of medical staff that a patient might die because he did not have a machine, just as we were told a moment earlier. By the same reporter.
This was not a glitch, this was simply the reality that mixed with it and preceded the diligent editors of the observed edition in Israel.

Take for example the reporting of News Articles 12 Inbal Toiser by Oded Ben Ami on a three-week news story, which has become irrelevant since then, and for some reason was published yesterday on the current affairs program. Toiser refutes allegations that have surfaced on social media in recent days by vaccine opponents, presenting to Ben Ami the fact that most of the team's experts in treating epidemics claim that there is no medical justification for requiring recoverers with another vaccine, and yet the evil state has decided to condition a green mark on vaccination.
Toiser, a decidedly industrious reporter, even bothered to present Ben Ami with a photocopy of a section of the minutes of the committee that convened on September 2, according to which there was a majority against the decision. Thus, those who watched the popular "Six" program yesterday found that the state is pushing vaccines contrary to the opinion of the experts who advise it. There is one problem with this sensational report - it's a lie.
The truth is that about two weeks after that hearing, on September 15, the committee convened as agreed in advance, and this time it was presented with new data from the Gartner Institute regarding recoverers. Following the new data, the matter was brought to a further vote and this time most of the experts today are in favor of making receiving a green card conditional on those recovering from a vaccine. The state has adopted the committee's decisions (which are open to the public, and can be viewed at this link), while only 18% of experts vote against the decision. For some reason, Toyser forgot to make the latest news accessible to Oded Ben Ami and his viewers. In fact she completely ignored them. And seriously, this is an inconceivable matter. Imagine a sports reporter telling about an excellent game of a particular football team in the first half, without telling that the game ended in the defeat of that team.
For the avoidance of doubt, Toiser knew of the updated expert recommendation that overturned the previous decision.
In fact, she signed an article published hours earlier on the N12 website about the whole thing.
The article was largely based on the allegations made in the early committee, and mentioned in a small way, towards the end of the article, that the decision was changed after consideration of new data.
What a strange edit, to give the fresh news at the end, and open the article with the old and out of date information.
By the way, Toiser, who herself recovered from Corona, became the favorite of vaccine opponents on social media until the evening hours, and reached a status that so far only Arad Nir has enjoyed.

Toiser is not the only one who has omitted details to make news more exciting. A sweet story about a strange time, the truth.
But as part of the general time-out, Duek and Abraham talked about the proposal to prevent unemployment benefits from vaccine opponents who were fired from their jobs. Indeed a sensational news, if only it were true. The truth is that no one plans to hurt a penny of the unemployment benefits of vaccine opponents, but only to compare their conditions to those who have chosen to resign from their jobs. This means that if someone refuses to get vaccinated and in addition refuses to do tests before arriving at work, he will actually be declared resigning - just, by the way, as will happen to someone who suddenly decides on his own to stop coming to work for any other reason. In the parallel channel, Matan Khodorov also reported on the controversial move, voiced substantive criticism against it, but accurately explained the meaning without rounding corners and trying to produce headlines by force.
Meanwhile, doctors on all channels have told how they are collapsing because of the "non-vaccinated epidemic".
Meir Marciano reported on Channel 13 that 98% of the new verified in Corona had not been vaccinated with the booster dose.
Hospital administrators recounted how the Acmo machines were perceived by young unvaccinated people, who are given priority over older vaccinated ones, because their chances of recovery are better.

The editions direct a lot of criticism, often justified, towards government decision-makers - but it's time to take a look in the mirror. This is not the time to look for sensations. This is not the time to try to create artificial balances. This is not the time to caress the egos of vaccine opponents. It's time to tell the truth: You can not beat the corona with vitamin C supplements.
