A school bus left the road Monday morning in Saint-Gorgon (Vosges) after the driver felt unwell, who subsequently died, and a child was slightly injured in the accident, announced the prefecture of the Vosges.
“Quickly arrived on site, the emergency services were unable to resuscitate the driver who was declared dead,” the prefecture said in a statement.
The injured youngster was transported to the Epinal hospital center, and a psychological support unit was opened.
According to information from the regional daily Vosges Matin, the bus ended its race in a cornfield after leaving the road around 07:30.
The 35 young people present in the bus are educated at the Charlemagne college and at the Jean Lurçat high school in Bruyères (Vosges): they were all able to be transported to their establishments after the accident, according to the prefecture.
