Tiktok has reached a billion users

The battle for users' attention is gaining momentum: Chinese social network Tiktok announced tonight (Monday) that it has reached a billion participants worldwide.
"The top goal for us is to inspire creativity and bring joy to people around the world," read the official blog of the social network.
"We are proud to be home to such a diverse global community of families, small businesses and content creators, who are becoming our favorite stars."

This is an increase of about 300 million users in less than half a year, since last April Tiktok reported about 730 million subscribers.
In contrast, the competing social network Instagram had about 1.30 billion subscribers registered at the time.
