"The Squid Game" and "The Hunger Games" take place in the same universe - and there is proof of this in one of the episodes
A new fan theory claims that the Korean "Squid Game" and the American "Hunger Games" are much more related to each other than the obvious similarity in the plot lines - and there is also a hint of this in one of the episodes

Trailer for the series "The Squid Game" (Netflix)
Have you seen the "Squid Game" before? It is clear to us that you have seen. We just wanted to be the first
today to
ask you this question. Many have been talking about Netflix's biggest hit of all time, so much so that we're already a little sick of further discussion about it - but we've found a new fan theory that changes everything we thought about "The Squid Game" and we just have to talk about it for a moment.
Does the plot of the Korean hit series "The Squid Game," which stars Netflix's number one in more than 90 countries, take place in the same fictional world in which American "Hunger Games" movies and books take place? If we rely on a line said in one of the chapters, it probably is. Beyond that, there may be other series and movies whose plot takes place in the same fictional world and nothing more is required than a union of worlds that I wish we would see in its second season (and yes, it seems to be).
So how exactly did we come to this conclusion?
In fact it is not we who have reached it.
Ticket user Ruthbellpan shared a video that deals with this theory and before we explain, if by any chance you have not finished watching - from now on we are spoilers.

While the comparison between "The Squid Game" and "The Hunger Games" is certainly obvious, it is actually a line that was said in the seventh episode of the series that linked the two. When the VIPs come to visit the island where the games are being held, one of them mentions that "the competition in Korea was the best". That is, there are more competitions being held for them around the world!
So true, it can be assumed that the bored rich run recruitment teams of needy people all over the world, but it is also not unreasonable to conclude that the American version of "The Squid Game" is the one that recruited Katniss Averdine and Pita Malark for a game of life and death. Ruth also claims that the Japanese version is probably "Borderland", which is also available to watch on Netflix and succeeds there not bad.
Ruth's video with her theory garnered over 3.8 million views and 500,000 likes. Ruth said: "I can not even imagine what the squid game will look like in other countries"Thus spurred her followers to be creative and find the game versions of their countries.
This is her theory:

One from the UK jokingly suggested "Bike of Britain" as the British version.
Another talked about Australia and wrote: "In the first game you just ride a kangaroo" and then sent a suggestion to the Russians: "The squid game in Russia is simply called 'winter'".
So who do you think is suitable to be the Israeli version of "The Squid Game"?
As it seems in the meantime, what Karin from "Khatuni" is going through is quite reminiscent of the bloodshed of the Korean game.
not like that?
