Dramatic accident in Gâvre, in Loire-Atlantique.
A 14-year-old man, who was about to celebrate his fifteenth birthday this Sunday, was killed on his scooter on Saturday following a collision with a van.
He was accompanied by another 15-year-old boy, slightly injured, who was transported to the Nantes University Hospital.
The driver in custody for "manslaughter"
The two-wheeler collided with a van in circumstances which remain to be determined, Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. at the locality of Les Rotys, north of Nantes, note Ouest-France and Presse Océan.
The 15 firefighters and the medical team from Samu, dispatched to the scene, were unable to save the driver of the scooter.
The driver of the van, shocked, was taken care of by the gendarmerie.
Tested positive for the blood alcohol test, he was taken into police custody for "manslaughter", indicates Ouest-France.
