We got up at 2:00 at night to see Amdursky in the desert.
It was worth every moment
Families on tap, young, less young and also lonely - all of these filled Mitzpe Gvulot for the 14th time at the Indingev Festival this past weekend.

The Wise announced "another two miles to the destination," but the time in traffic jam showed 32 minutes.
At this point Shai, who was driving all the way from Tel Aviv on a Thursday evening laden with vehicles, suggested that we park and go with the bags, bags and tent on us. I agreed. Loaded with mattresses, food and families lurk behind you.
So after it was canceled last year because of the corona, and the year was postponed for two weeks from September to October due to the limit of 5,000 participants at the festival, last weekend "Indingev" took place for the 14th time at Mitzpe Gvulot in the western Negev.
The three days of the old festival have already made a good reputation for combining well-known artists with fringe bands, well-known and lesser-known DJs and, in principle, an Israeli festival that is all about love for music.

Fortishsharof's union was far from perfect, but what they did on stage made up for it all

Musical energy bomb
Thursday of the festival began with a show by Adi Shaham, Anat Moshkovsky and at 21:00 Lola Marsh, immediately followed by a musical energy bomb - Fortisharoff in their last show in the most blessed union of 2021. Although the show was short (only about an hour), the veteran duo tried Which only gets better over the years, compressing as many songs as possible from their endless repertoire.
A lot of the good ones were left out, but the crowd of thousands of fans didn’t care, and they jumped to the sounds of Berry’s “Upside Down,” “Shoes” or “How Much Yossi”.
But what was most special was an encore in the form of the excellent "Iner Station", one of the hits of their previous lineup "Minimal Compact", which as Fortis said "is performed for the first time in their 15 appearances this year".
It was a celebration for every fan of the duo and of the Israeli Dark Eighties.
At 11:30 p.m., just as this day's lineup determined, they stepped off the stage to the cheers of the crowd.
At 02:00 Amdursky's show was scheduled, which gave us time to walk around the large complex, among other stages, a not-so-bad techno party and food stalls serving great malabi, great acai ice cream, pizzas and even vegan shawarma.
The Manchis celebrated.

In general, Indingev is probably the most similar to the music festivals we know in Europe, ones that combine families camping, groups of young people who have no worries in life and even a few who came alone, like the 30-year-old who overtook us with the car when we walked with the equipment after parking, Far. "Fortisharoff is about to ascend," we told her when asked why we were walking. "Who did you come to see?" We asked. "I have no idea the truth of who appears," she replied. Apparently Indingev has become an event in itself, even if you are less familiar with who is performing.
However, such a big event could have also taken into account the long queues at the box office entrance, which were crowded with people who had to show a green sign and then pick up the tickets, and open more stands. Even the large (and only) bar near the main "monkey" stage could not handle the order load during performances, so anyone who wanted a beer had to stand something like four songs in a bar (about a quarter of a performance), instead of watching his favorite artist. However, to the credit of both the bar and the food stalls, it can be said that the prices were reasonable and not too expensive. Beer for NIS 26, soft drinks for NIS 10 and food dishes for up to NIS 30.
What was also encouraging to see, is the families who came on tap to the event, arranged in the "Family Camping" complex with the tents and tractor headphones for the little ones to prevent the distortion of Berry and others.
There was also a children's complex called "Indilde", where creative workshops for young and old.
And the signage in such a large compound was good and well-intentioned, showing where the showers, the great recycling stations and also the chemical toilets that stank horribly from the outside as well, in a way that made many give up and go to some desert corner and vacate.

About one o'clock in the morning we retired to our tent, to rest a little before Amdursky. At 02:00 we woke up from the alarm clock and walked towards the "monkey" stage again. Amdursky and his band, dressed in white, opened with a few songs mainly from "Silent Engines" - "15 Minutes", "Dark Dream", and in the short time allotted to him he also managed to push "My Dear" and two songs from his new album "432" in the spirit of the bossa nova (" What you see now ”and“ All the Colors ”), to which he sought the patience of the audience.
But the best performance on the show was of the old song "New Love." Here came the diversity of an artist like Amdursky who uses a looper, synthesizers and great beats, which created a heartbreaking techno song. Combined with the white lighting that wound to the sounds of bass - the crowd was in a frenzy.
He came down too early, like Fortisharoff and others, with a desire for more and more of his songs - but that’s what an hour (gross) of performance gives you - some exciting hits and a bit of a sense of missing out.
The desire to compress as many artists and combinations as possible, comes at the expense of great songs that artists would sing in their regular show of an hour and a half plus.
The microcosm of the beautiful Israel you would like to see.

Good Wave
In the days that followed (Friday and Saturday), another great battery of artists awaited the audience, such as Mercedes Band, Jasmine Mualem and others, but also DJs who gave headlines in large plazas and danced thousands, such as Amichai Matias and Red Access.
It was fun to see all the people who came in Good Wave - single families - a kind of microcosm of the beautiful Israel you would like to see in this country - people who apologize when you are accidentally collected garbage next to them that does not belong to them, make room on the bench next to people they do not know Sees music and love festivals.
"In the Negev, the people of Israel and its state will be examined," Ben-Gurion once said.
At this Southern festival he gets an excellent grade.
