A little over a year after the assassination of Samuel Paty, a couple of teachers from Marseille received at their home several letters of death threats as well as a photo of Samuel Paty.
In this particular context where the memory of the professor murdered by a terrorist last year was celebrated all weekend, the response of the authorities was quick.
An investigation for death threats on a person holding public authority has been opened, the Marseille prosecutor's office told us on Monday, confirming information from BFMTV.
Two teachers from a college in the north of Marseille received a photo of the murdered history teacher in their letterbox at the beginning of October.
But the threats did not end there.
A few days later, couple received another typed letter of threats.
"You are going to die", this letter indicated in particular, during the expert appraisal.
The scenario repeated itself until this weekend.
During the night of Friday to last Saturday, a new mail was directly deposited in the mailbox of the two teachers.
"Last days… Next week you will die", was it written on this new threatening message, the very day of the anniversary of the attack against Samuel Paty.
According to the Marseille prosecutor's office, the investigation was entrusted to Marseille urban security.
