Listen to the podcast here - the full interview with Assaf Amdursky:

In recent years, Assaf Amdursky has finally begun to get used to inquiries from people on the street that accompany his status as a famous person.

"I understand that if a stranger talks to me on the street, I have to answer him and pay attention to him. If I am asked for a selfie, then I will take a picture with them. It is an acquired skill, it took me many years. I was not born with the understanding that I belong to someone and that I owe someone something. In this world. I make music because I enjoy it and it's fun. "

So what would you do when you were approached on the street?

"I would keep going. Sometimes I would answer whoever approached me. You have to remember that a person who walks in the street, sometimes he also writes a song. I would see Meir Ariel mumbling to himself in the street. You do not stop him for a selfie because an important song may go. So many years I felt That bother me, that bother me, that robs me of my privacy, the sway of everyday life. I wanted to be like everyone else, to enjoy walking in the street without being confused. "It, it supports my home, there are a lot of advantages in advertising and I accept them with love and patience along with the disadvantages. I always try to remind myself to be patient."

So abroad you probably feel best, when no one recognizes you.

"Yes, it's awfully pleasant and it helps to remember the proportions, that you're just like everyone else. Worth a world, but also worth nothing. It's a range that must not be forgotten. Even as a songwriter. You should not write as a famous person. When you write an exciting song you write The same way through the eyes of an infamous person, innocent, open, not angry, not defensive, not evading public space. "

Amdursky did take advantage of his stay outside of Israel - or rather, in Sinai - to create his new and wonderful album "432" which was released a few weeks ago and won critical acclaim. "I had three trips in a span of a year and each time I searched more and more for the felt. I sought the silence so as not to think, not answer, not listen, not react. In my iniquities I could not keep complete silence because the songs hatched underground, so I documented them and it happened Within days. "

A few weeks ago, the album was released, and its debut performance - which is currently defined as a one-time performance - will take place on October 28 at the Tel Aviv Museum as part of the Piano Festival. "I feel like sometimes there are albums that require more time for us to miss and that we want to see them on the show. So I think this show is more for me than for the audience. We will play the whole album with a few more songs around to enrich the show."

In an interview with Walla! Culture (listen up for the full interview) Amdursky also talks at length about age 50 and the feelings that accompany it: "I don't have much time to wallow in crises. There are awfully beautiful things that age has brought with it like maturity, artistic skill, or relationships with humans. "I was 17, but I believe there are also harder things that come with adolescence and I choose to ignore them. Maybe I am not yet ripe to open all my shortcomings to the public."

He also talks about his role as a musician in the world: "The world is beautiful and I came to show the beautiful musical sides of it, and if there are difficult moments then make those moments easier by the music. "With a mission. I feel that this profession has chosen me so that I can add beauty to the world. This is a role I have to persevere in."

On the new government: "It's magic that people with opposing views sit together and come to work for the public. Everyone puts the opposing agendas aside and concentrates on what can be done. We have already forgotten that this is their job. They are finally getting along and doing something for the public good. "Sitting together and working is inspiring. It's exactly what our company should have seen and I wish it would trickle down to our street. It gives hope. There is always room for criticism of course, but it's inspiring leadership."
