The victim was found beheaded and eviscerated at his home this Wednesday, in Bollène. The terrorist trail is "absolutely not privileged

In the photo released by the gendarmes on social networks, he appears smiling, laughing eyes staring at the lens.

This black-haired man, apparently in his forties, is however actively sought for particularly horrific facts: the beheading and evisceration of another man, this Wednesday, in the Vaucluse.

His alleged victim was found at his home in Bollène, a town of some 13,000 inhabitants located in the Rhône valley, between Montélimar and Orange.

"The terrorist trail is absolutely not privileged at this stage of the flagrance investigation," a source close to the investigation told AFP.

"Potentially DANGEROUS and ARMED"

The fugitive author is actively wanted, said the Vaucluse gendarmerie, which posted a message on Facebook.

"An important research device is currently deployed in Bollène, in the so-called Barry sector", specifies the Vaucluse gendarmerie in its call for witnesses.

The man, apparently in his forties, short black hair, is "potentially DANGEROUS and ARMED," she warns, calling any witness who comes across her to call 17 immediately.

A week ago, on October 13, a septuagenarian was found beheaded in her house in the seaside resort of Agde, in Hérault.

A suspect was indicted for murder a few days later: the 51-year-old man was the former husband of the victim's housekeeper.
