The YouTuber "Drachenlord" has been sentenced to two years in prison for dangerous bodily harm and other criminal offenses.

"This procedure is a sad example of the consequences of hatred and bullying on the Internet," said the judge in Nuremberg.

She saw it as proven that the 32-year-old had hit a man on the forehead with a flashlight and injured, among other things.

He threw a brick at another.

He also insulted police officers.

The prosecutor had previously demanded a prison sentence of two years and six months.

The defense pleaded for a suspended sentence of a maximum of two years.

The defendant had confessed the allegations from the seven indictments during the trial and apologized.

The video blogger has been arguing with people who are hostile to him for years - on the Internet and in the real world.

They regularly appear in front of his house in the Middle Franconian village of Altschauerberg to provoke him - be it with loud fireworks, with insulting shouts or graffiti and damage to his property.

According to their own statements, the police must therefore move out several times a day.

The YouTuber is first and foremost affected, but he himself also contributes to the fact that the dispute does not end.

The conflict began in 2014 when the blogger himself gave his address in one of his videos and asked his opponents to come to him.

Since then people have been traveling to the house of the "Dragon Lord" from all over the world.

For security reasons, the responsible district court in Neustadt an der Aisch had moved the main hearing to the criminal justice center in Nuremberg.

It is the second time that the YouTuber had to answer for assault in court.

In September 2019, he was sentenced to a suspended sentence of seven months for a pepper spray attack.

He committed some of the now charged acts while on probation.
