The
seven-day incidence
in Germany is currently increasing rapidly.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Friday morning as
95.1
.
This is the first time since mid-May that he has exceeded 90.
For comparison: the previous day the value was 85.6, a week ago it was 68.7 (previous month: 65.0).
The health authorities in Germany reported
19,572 new corona infections to
the RKI within one day
.
A week ago the value was 11,518 infections.
This is evident from the figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 03:23 a.m., subsequent changes or additions to the RKI are possible.
According to the new information,
116 deaths were
recorded across
Germany within 24 hours
.
A week ago there were 65 deaths.
The RKI has counted 4,437,280 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions - was given by the RKI on Thursday at
2.45
(Wednesday 2.34).
With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay.
A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is
not provided
for the
incidence of hospitalization,
among other things because of large regional differences.
The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,192,000.
The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 94,991.
According to the RKI, the number of corona cases in Germany could grow dynamically in the coming period.
"It is to be expected that the increase in the number of cases will accelerate in the further course of autumn and winter," writes the institute in its new weekly report on the pandemic, which appeared on Thursday evening.
Even intensive care physicians are sounding the alarm because many intensive care beds could no longer be operated due to a lack of nursing staff.
Expert: Fourth wave has started
The German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (Divi) announced on Thursday evening that "a noticeable reduction in care for the population can be expected" in the coming period.
Currently, 22,207 intensive care beds are reported as operable, at the beginning of the year there were 26,475.
The past few months have led to a deterioration in mood and further dismissals of regular nurses, according to the Divi.
"The actual 4th wave has now begun and continues to pick up speed," wrote Divi expert Christian Karagiannidis on Twitter.
