Two people were indicted on Friday in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) in a case of health pass fraud whose beneficiaries

The small business was doing well.

At the beginning of October, doctors from the Muret vaccination center (about twenty kilometers south of Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne) had alerted to the gap they observed between the number of vaccines injected and that of health passes issued.

The gendarmes of Muret's company had launched an investigation.

They focused their suspicions on a 19-year-old young woman, a volunteer at the vaccination center, and her companion of the same age.

The first collected the necessary documents, the second would have been responsible for selling the real documents to be used as fakes to relatives or via ads on Snapchat.

According to prosecutor Samuel Vuelta-Simon, the documents traded from 100 euros up to 380 euros.

Nursing assistants, nursing home employees, physiotherapist ...

As part of the judicial investigation for "fraud" and "complicity in fraud" opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor's office, the couple was indicted and placed under judicial control. For the moment, the gendarmes have identified 140 beneficiaries of these passes even though they have not been vaccinated. Among them, fourteen health professionals were heard by the gendarmes on Wednesday and Thursday.

These people work "in establishments in the Occitanie region" and are nursing assistants, nursing home employees, physiotherapist, pharmacy preparer, company managers specializing in Covid disinfection, or in charge of safety in hospitals.

Some are subject to the obligation to be vaccinated to continue to exercise.

The Toulouse public prosecutor's office has indicated that they will be the subject of further prosecution.

"Particular attention will be given to those who have bypassed the vaccine obligation because of their employment in the health sector," said the public prosecutor in a press release.
