The charges are very serious.

Six legionnaires from the Nîmes regiment - or who have been there - were indicted this Friday for aggravated procuring, human trafficking, money laundering and criminal association with a view to committing a crime, reports France 3.

All from Eastern European countries, they are suspected of having organized a prostitution network.

It has been almost a year since the investigation into this network began.

Last November, a Ukrainian prostitute was arrested by the customs officers of Saint-Nazaire.

Faced with the amount of cash and condoms she was carrying, she was forced to admit that she was prostituting herself and that the network to which she belonged was directed to Nîmes.

Logistics management

Investigators ended up going back to the legionaries.

They discovered that the military brought in girls from Eastern Europe to prostitute them.

They also took care of the logistics: apartment rental, posting of advertisements, etc.

They were arrested on Tuesday, in Nîmes and in the Bouches-du-Rhône by the Raid and the Central Office for the fight against trafficking in human beings, reports Midi Libre.
