Calvados: a mayor struck with a baton for wanting to stop a giant urban rodeo

The facts took place this Saturday, in the town of Faulq, near Lisieux. Fortunately, the chosen one was only slightly injured.


This is not the first time that this has happened.

For wanting to intervene in order to stop an urban rodeo in his town this Saturday, the mayor of Faulq (Calvados) was attacked by one of the people involved in this illegal race.

According to France Bleu, which reveals the case this Sunday, about fifty young people equipped with scooters and motorcycles had gathered in this small town of 340 inhabitants, north of Lisieux.

Living nearby, Bruno Lethuillier then intervened to try to get things back in order.

Rodeos that sometimes turn into drama

According to the gendarmes, the tone would then be quickly raised and the mayor was struck with a baton by one of the individuals who had come to participate in this illegal race.

The latter obviously lodged a complaint and an investigation by the gendarmerie is underway.

For the time being, still according to France Bleu, a vehicle has been seized.

As for the chosen one, he was fortunately only slightly injured and did not have to be taken to hospital.

These wild rodeos have been steadily making headlines in recent years.

Because beyond the obvious noise pollution for residents, these races sometimes turn into a tragedy.

Thus, Friday, in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis), a municipal police officer uses his weapon during an intervention for a wild rodeo.

Last July, a 21-year-old young woman was killed near Amiens, after a biker lost control of his two-wheeler.
