The angel who brought home the twins who were left destitute

Fifteen years ago, almost two decades ago, Edna Sheetrit decided to adopt her two nieces, five-year-old twins as a nanny, after her sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly. As if that wasn't enough, Sheetrit was already a single mother of three.
Sheetrit spoke with Maayan Adam and told about the process that led to her decision: "It was reported from Welfare that if there is no person in the family who can take the girls, they will go for adoption. This field is very familiar to me, I take care of children in my work.
"In the process, I realized that the two were not growing up correctly," she shared candidly, adding: "There is a built-in gratitude, today they are 22 and a half years old. 17 years have passed, one started studying this week, and the other is a pre-military instructor. That's the most significant thing I've ever done.
Tali Halaf, CEO of Or Shalom, an organization that works to find foster families for children, joined the conversation, and provided additional data on the association's activities.
