Germany: towards a third dose of vaccine

Several regions of the country have tightened their health restrictions.

In the East, Saxony will generalize the obligation to be vaccinated or cured to access restaurants and cultural places.

Since November 2, Baden-Württemberg has required non-vaccinated people to provide a PCR test to go to a restaurant, a cinema or a sports club.

Nightclubs are reserved for vaccinated people and private gatherings limited to a household plus five people maximum.

Netherlands: extended health pass

From Saturday, the sanitary mask is again compulsory in all closed establishments, such as shops.

It is also prescribed for contact professions, such as hairdressers and masseurs.

The health pass has been extended to museums and restaurant terraces.

Austria: compulsory vaccination in restaurants, hotels and places of culture

From November 8, a vaccination certificate will be required to access restaurants, hotels and cultural places.

Iceland: wearing a mask again compulsory

Iceland has announced a series of new measures to contain the record surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.

Wearing a mask is mandatory again on Saturday, while the one-meter social distancing rule is also reinstated.

The limit for gatherings will drop to 500 people on Wednesday (against 2,000 currently), and bars and restaurants will have to close two hours earlier than today, at 11 p.m.

Latvia: return of curfew

In Latvia, where the vaccination rate barely exceeds 50%, a curfew has been in place for four weeks since October 21.

School holidays have been extended by a week, sports halls closed and sporting and cultural events canceled.

The Prime Minister also raised the possibility of making the vaccination of over 50s compulsory.
