The Israeli public transportation app Moovit, acquired by Intel for $ 900 million in 2020, will show users in Europe and the Middle East the location of Bird's scooters in their immediate vicinity in real time, as part of a collaboration between the companies.

Moovit serves more than a billion urban users in 112 countries around the world, offering its services in over 1,500 cities in Europe and the Middle East.

Alongside this, Bird provides a global service to more than 350 cities around the world.

In total, the information will be displayed to users in 65 cities in 12 different countries - including Israel, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, France, Austria and the United Kingdom.

In addition, the companies will collaborate in urban mobility research in the aforementioned areas in order to gain local perspectives on transportation trends.

"The ability to offer alternative modes of transport in order to move people to their destination easily is a critical component of any mobility platform as a service," says Yoav Meidad, Moovit's Director of Development and Marketing.

"Therefore, we are excited to partner with Bird. Users will be able to combine micro-mobility with public transportation to enjoy the most convenient ways to get around, especially in congested cities around the world."

Yaniv Rivlin, CEO of Bird Israel and Director of Corporate Relations at the company at EMEA: "We are happy and excited about the cooperation that has begun here in Israel.

The purpose of the move is clear and unambiguous - to transfer passengers from private vehicles to public transportation through a supply of alternatives that work in synergy with each other. "
