An investigation for harassment was opened by the prosecutor's office in Lorient following the suicide of a 14-year-old girl last Friday, the city's public prosecutor said on Friday.
“On November 12, 2021, at the parental home located in a town within the jurisdiction of the Lorient prosecutor's office, the lifeless body of a 14-year-old girl was discovered.
The findings left no doubt as to autolysis (suicide, editor's note) by hanging, ”Stéphane Kellenberger told AFP.
"Since then, in addition to the necessary findings, an investigation continues, including the heads of harassment," he added, confirming information from the daily Ouest-France.
According to the regional daily, she would then have been the target of mockery and insults after the dissemination of pornographic images.
"The teenager and other minors, then schooled in fourth grade in a private college in the country of Lorient, would have photographed themselves naked and would have transmitted the pictures to boys in their class, via the social network Snapchat," writes Ouest -France.
The boys in question would then have shared them.
The investigation is entrusted in cosaisine to the gendarmes of the local brigade and to those of the Lorient Research Brigade (BR).
