.: Foreigners have to wait at least until the end of April before they can enter New Zealand.
The Minister for Response to the Corona Pandemic, Chris Hipkins, announced on Wednesday.
A plan to gradually open the border was presented on Wednesday.
New Zealanders stranded due to the border closure in Australia can return to the country from mid-January, New Zealanders stuck elsewhere from mid-February.
After arrival, self-isolation for seven days is mandatory, travelers must also be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus and show a negative test result.
New Zealand closed its borders after the corona pandemic began in March last year.
Regional lack of corona self-tests
6.24 a.m.:
The demand for corona self-tests in pharmacies or drugstores increases with the growing number of cases - in some regions they are becoming scarce.
There are regional bottlenecks in drugstores nationwide, as a spokesman for the Rossmann drugstore chain announced on request.
Due to the current high demand, there could be occasional problems with availability.
The "Berliner Morgenpost" reported on it beforehand.
The drugstore chain dm also reported a similar situation.
"At the moment, due to fluctuating demand and disrupted supply chains, not all products are always available in sufficient quantities," said the managing director of the dm drugstore chain, Sebastian Bayer.
The drugstore offers self-tests from three different manufacturers.
The corona self-tests can also be bought in pharmacies - regional bottlenecks also occur here.
"In some regions there are currently delivery bottlenecks for rapid tests, other regions still have no problems," said a spokeswoman for the German Pharmacists' Association (DAV).
The DAV spokeswoman could not say in which regions the tests were exactly in short supply.
»If the tests in a pharmacy run out, the manager of the pharmacy will endeavor to get supplies as soon as possible.
That is why the availability in pharmacies can change daily. "
