"Great Country" mocks Rina succeeds but does exactly the same thing - Walla! culture

As in the political media, satire programs tend to suffer from the same problem in the end: it is easy to mess with provocations and mock them, and it is more convenient than dealing with explosive or more important things.

Yawning smiles.

A wonderful country (Photo: Keshet 12)

1. Sometime at the end of the first decade of the millennium, a viral radio sketch by Sharon Teicher appeared on the Internet, a parody of commercials by companies such as "Electric Warehouses", known as the "Triangle Toaster" sketch. It was a ripping sequence of absurd products, such as a shortening cable, octagonal toaster, electric toothpaste or refrigerator oven, which the public is welcome to purchase as part of an impossible sale. More than a decade later, it is still "pouring out," as Bennett-Zarhovich says.

Last night, Great Country, through the same Sharon Teicher, presented a variation on this segment in honor of the November shopping celebrations, as a sort of tribute or remake of the same segment - but for those who know the joke it was not worth more than a few smiles. The effect faded. The stuff is a little tired.

This feeling has accompanied almost the entire last episode of Great Country: almost all the jokes have been used and anticipated. Again Menachem Horowitz and Avivit Bar-Zohar, again Manny Mamtra makes animals, again Gideon Saar as a polite robot. It's worth some yawning smiles,But very repetitive.

More on Walla!

Rina Matzliach is not a celeb.

She's a journalist.

What does she have to look for in the dumb celebration of "The Singer in the Mask"?

2. Eretz Nehederet had fun yesterday with the character of Rina Matzliach (Shani Cohen), as a representative of the entire Israeli media. Maslih-Cohen rebuked the figures of the politicians sitting on the panel, who spoke rudely to each other instead of doing so in her plan. In a very predictable panel for the most part, this is perhaps the sharpest thing that has been said: the media chirps about a provocative political discourse but also rewards it in a long screen time, and is built from it.

The question asked here is whether the joke is not a bit even at the expense of a great country itself. David Amsalem and Shirley Pinto are of course entitled to criticism, but are they really the important political factors of the week? Did they affect our lives this week in any way? Did they not receive their dose of fame / ridicule in a great country solely because of those blatant things that lead to a shocked invitation to the political panels? And if there was no bigger political story - is it not better to invest the energies of "land" in other channels?

As in the political media, satire programs also tend to suffer in the end from the same problem: it is easy to deal with and mock provocations, and it is more convenient than dealing with explosive or more important things.

Spring again (Photo: Keshet 12)

On the fringes of things, one character captured the heart in this episode, and again it was - of all the people - actually counted as a signer.

You don't have to watch the matchmaking program to burst out laughing in front of Eli Finish's fresh imitation.

As this character likes to say: it's your idea that he's good.
