Hadjir E., 42, attacked a series of stores in Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine in 2019, before being arrested by the police

The plastic Beretta robber returns to the shade for a while.

After about seven hours of deliberation, the Paris Assize Court on Thursday evening sentenced Hadjir E., 42, to twelve years in prison for a series of robberies of Parisian stores in 2019. A sentence in accordance with the requisitions of the lawyer general, and even a little more severe, since the jurors set a safety period of two-thirds of the sentence.

“This verdict relieved the civil parties, who feared that the accused would get out of prison quickly.

It is for them the validation that what they endured has traumatized them for life ”, greets Me Moad Nefati, the lawyer of two former saleswomen of Naturalia, who still present, more than two years after the facts, of the troubles. intense post-trauma.

Not surprisingly, the verdict was less well received by the accused.

“My client is unhappy.

This security was not necessary, given the efforts made to be psychologically taken care of and the many regrets expressed at the hearing.

He will appeal, ”announces the defense lawyer, Me Antoine Ory.

Already sentenced in 2011

Between March and August 2019, Hadjir had embarked on a series of plastic pistol robberies of Naturalia, Starbucks and Picard in Paris and in the Hauts-de-Seine. In a similar modus operandi, the thief robbed and threatened the vendors with death, just before closing. He had the contents of crates and safes returned to him when he could, then he restrained his victims with Serflex, before fleeing in the metro. And this, in a state of recidivism, since he had already been sentenced in 2011 to eight years in prison for the robbery of a Lidl in Sevran, still with a dummy weapon, with hostage-taking, which had required the intervention of the RAID.

At the hearing, Hadjir decided to explain himself, after having walled himself in silence throughout the investigation.

He claimed to have robbed these businesses to pay off a gambling debt. He also reiterated his apologies to his victims.

“Many cashiers have followed one another at the bar, to come and tell their fright.

Certainly, each time, the accused methodically apologized.

But can we speak of sincerity?

“Asks Me Moad Nefati.

Hadjir ended up being arrested on August 19, 2019 in the lobby of a hotel in rue Myrha (18th century Paris), when he had just robbed two days earlier of a Naturalia in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

The estimated amount of his total loot is just over 9,000 euros.
