The Francophone Society of Pediatric and Prenatal Imaging (SFIPP)
", of which eight members or ex-members signed the forum, "
deplores that only 150 specialists are currently listed on the whole of the territory, that is to say 1.7% radiologists, while the population of 0-19 years represents 25% of the French population,
”writes the collective.

Among the factors explaining the low staffing levels, the signatories cite "
the desertification of the public hospital
" as well as "
a purely accounting global budgetary policy aimed at limiting costs
".
In addition, pediatric radiology procedures "consume
much more time and personnel than adult radiology and deserve real specific price recognition
", argue the authors of the text.

Pediatric radiopediatrics is in particular suffering, as is all pediatrics today,
” they continue.
To remedy this, the signatories suggest "
a revaluation and recognition of careers and pediatric acts, well beyond the crumbs from the Ségur
