The perpetrator was sentenced on July 25 to one year in prison, including six months, for violence and threats committed

The man who stabbed his companion at the foot of his building on Friday in Épinay-sur-Seine in Seine-Saint-Denis was indicted on Monday for "murder by spouse" and imprisoned, announced the prosecution from Bobigny.

The respondent, aged 51, was presented to justice on Sunday evening.

The man, who had just come out of prison for violence committed on his wife, admitted "globally the facts," said the prosecution in a statement.

He faces life imprisonment.

Bouchra, the victim, was returning home last Friday around 7.45 p.m. when her companion stabbed her several times.

His death was pronounced an hour later.

A knife had been found in a nearby bush.

The companion went to the police station that same evening and was taken into police custody.

Aged 51, he had just been released from prison for violence committed against his wife and said he had come to wait for him "to discuss and recover documents and personal effects".

He "affirms to have come without intention" to kill her but had bought a kitchen knife before the meeting, had detailed the public prosecutor.

The perpetrator was sentenced on July 25 to one year in prison, including six months, for violence and threats committed against his partner on June 7.

Since July, this woman had a serious danger phone, a device allowing victims of domestic violence to quickly alert the police in case of concern.

The victim, a mother of two daughters aged 5 and 14, triggered her phone on October 5, when her companion was downstairs from her home.

Part of the 50-year-old's reprieve was then revoked and he returned to prison.

He was finally released on November 17.

In parallel with the investigation, "a precise analysis is undertaken on the reasons for which this tragedy could occur, in spite of the devices", underlined the prosecutor of Bobigny Éric Mathais.
