A candidate grabbed at the collar, SOS Racism activists with bloody faces, flying chairs… Eric Zemmour's first campaign rally began in violence on Sunday. A first investigation was opened by the Bobigny package. The investigations are divided into two parts: one relates to violence against activists of SOS Racisme, the other on those targeting the presidential candidate by an individual who grabbed him before entering the scene. They are carried out by the Territorial Security of Seine-Saint-Denis, which will analyze in particular the videos of these two sequences, broadcast on social networks.
The entourage of Eric Zemmour indicated on Sunday evening that he suffered from a wrist injury and had been prescribed nine days of temporary interruption of work (ITT) after being grabbed by a man, immediately exfiltrated then arrested by the police. The Bobigny prosecutor's office said for its part that the certificate provided was not established by a medico-judicial unit (UMJ), empowered to determine the ITT for criminal prosecution. The custody of the individual suspected of "premeditated violence" committed on Eric Zemmour has been extended, said the prosecution in a statement on Monday evening.
Violence also erupted at the start of the speech of the far-right candidate when a dozen SOS Racisme activists present in the public unveiled T-shirts comprising the slogan "no to racism".
They were beaten and targeted by throwing chairs, according to the video released by the anti-racist association.
Several chases took place at the back of the room to exfiltrate them, in great confusion.
The situation returned to calm after about ten minutes.
A member of the candidate's security spoke of "some exfiltrated anti-fas militants", accusing them of having wanted to stir up trouble.
Five SOS Racism activists released
Journalists were also taken to task during the meeting, in particular the team of the “Quotidien” program, presented by Yann Barthès on TMC, and two journalists from Mediapart who were hit in the back of the head.
They filed a complaint on Monday.

Zemmour taken to task during his meeting, the situation degenerates into a general fight
In total, about sixty people were taken into police custody on Sunday in particular for "participation in an armed gathering with a view to committing violence or degradation", "outrages" and "rebellions", specified the Bobigny prosecutor's office.
This Monday evening, only seven police custody were extended, including that of the alleged assailant Eric Zemmour.
The five SOS Racisme activists, suspected of having committed violence during this rally and who were also in custody, were released.
"If they wish", they can "file a complaint for the violence they have suffered" with the territorial security of Seine-Saint-Denis, added the Bobigny prosecutor's office.
