Eric Zemmour's meeting, Sunday in Villepinte, was punctuated by violence.

And among them, the aggression of the far-right presidential candidate himself: during the meeting, a man split through the crowd to grab Eric Zemmour by the neck, before being overpowered by the security service.

A gesture that would have slightly injured the polemicist on the wrist.

According to Eric Zemmour's entourage, this incident would have cost him nine days of ITT.

Arrested, the perpetrator was taken into police custody Sunday afternoon for premeditated violence.

His police custody ended Tuesday evening at the territorial security of Seine-Saint-Denis and he should be presented this Wednesday to an examining magistrate, said the Bobigny prosecutor's office.

The young man pleads the accident

This is Valentin B.-M., 27, an entrepreneur in the tourism sector after having studied marketing.

He resides in Hauts-de-Seine and would already be known to justice for similar facts.

According to his publications on his Twitter account, the young man was displayed as a fervent sympathizer of Philippe Juvin, before setting his sights on Eric Ciotti, for whom he voted, he says in a tweet.

Contacted, the Republicans party confirms that a member of the same name took his card in early November.

During his police custody, Valentin B.-M.

disputed the intentional nature of the incident.

The young man confirmed to the police that he was voting on the right, that he had more precisely voted for Eric Ciotti, but that he also loved Philippe Juvin.

According to him, the injury was accidental: he would have "fallen" and would have "not done it on purpose" to fall on Eric Zemmour.
