Promo "Heirs" Season 3 Episode 8 (HBO)

(Spoilers for the final episode of season 3 - from now on)

After it was thought that Kendall Roy died at the end of last episode, it turned out that he survived a drowning in a pool and survived.

The episode revolves around Logan Roy's negotiations with Lucas Matson over the merger between Roy's company - Wistar - and Matson's GoJo. Jerry tells the Roy brothers about high fines to be imposed on Wistar by the Justice Department, which could hurt the deal to close, and that Goju's market capitalization surpassed Wistar's. "Their board may be exploring other options," she explains to the brothers.

When Logan and Roman go to meet Matson, the latter explains to Logan that his girlfriend - Gojo "flies like a rocket" while Logan Roy's girlfriend "sinks like a lead balloon".

Matson explains to Logan that what he is really interested in is taking over "Wistar" and not merging evenly.

This means that Matson's takeover will give him control of the company's board of directors.

Although Logan refuses the offer, he decides to stay and talk to Metson while sending Roman back to his mother's wedding.

Later, Roman, Conor and Shiv perform an "intervention" with Kendall and express their concern in the face of his condition.

They claim he is consciously or subconsciously trying to kill himself.

Conor's partner then agrees - with relative reluctance - to his marriage proposal to Conor's delight.

During the reception for their mother's wedding, Shiv updates Roman that a financial factor has gone out to Matson's Italian estate, hinting that a deal between the companies is being reached.

Kendall, who is severely depressed, tells his brother Shiv and an affair about the waiter who caused his death at Shiv's wedding. The two empathize with him and tell him that this is not a murder. Although he is in a completely apathetic state and does not want to engage in the state of society at all, he decides to join Shiv and Roman to help them reverse their father's decision and initiate a “complete coup,” as they call it. For, if Metson is allowed to take over Wistar, the chances of one of Logan's children being able to take over the company will one day be dashed.

In order for Logan to be able to put Metson in the lead, he needs a privileged majority on the part of those involved in Weistar's holding company, including themselves (divorced Caroline negotiated their voting authority during her divorce proceedings with Logan). The idea is that they will block Logan's deal with Matson, then remove him completely from the company and divide it into equal parts that they will control separately.

When the three brothers reach out to their father to carry out the "coup," Logan tries to quarrel between them and maneuver them in his favor.

But then Shiv and Roman realize that they can not really trust their father or that he wants their best, and they stand like a wall side by side - Kendall, Shiv and Roman.

Shiv makes it clear to her father that they can thwart this deal, and her father screams angrily "You are playing with toy soldiers!".

It quickly turns out that Logan is not lying.

It turns out that he had just contacted his ex-wife Caroline and persuaded her to change the terms of their divorce agreement so that their children would have no ability to intervene in the deal with GoJo.

Shiv realizes that someone has leaked to Logan the plot of the three brothers, and very quickly it is clear on her face that she understands that her husband Tom is the one behind the leak - and thwarting their plan.
