Musk vs. Zuckerberg: Matevers is just a word for marketing right now
Elon Musk believes that Zuckerberg's vision for a three-dimensional virtual world, the Mtavers, is too optimistic.
In his opinion right now, this is just a word that sounds cool to market the idea and it will take a long time to grasp

Once thought the internet, it will not catch on.
In a 1995 interview with Bill Gates, David Letterman mocks things that now seem obvious to us, such as a broadcast of an online baseball game.
Elon Musk shared this video in a tweet, referring to Towers, the vast virtual world that Mark Zuckerberg presented in his vision a few weeks ago.
Musk is not against the idea, which has already been given the name web3 (not to be confused with W3C), but he believes that at the moment the Towers is just a marketing buzzword, and not something real.
"I'm not saying it's real (the Metavers)," Tesla founder wrote on Twitter.
"It seems more like a marketing word right now than a reality - I just wonder what the future will look like in 10,20,30 years. 2051 sounds insanely futuristic!", Musk writes.

While Musk believes the Metavers, it will not catch on - but in decades to come, Zuckerberg will certainly put his love on the new venture, and companies like Facebook or Meta in its new name, are rushing forward with the virtual world.
An initial prototype for developers already exists, and versions for businesses and more are coming out soon.
Zuckerberg estimated that the Matavers would be widely adopted within 5-10 years.
Similarly, the Wall Street Stock Exchange responds positively to the idea of a virtual world: Towers-related cryptocurrencies have skyrocketed over the course of the year, and the new virtual world is valued at a trillion dollars in potential, mostly of course, as an advertising market.
Musk as mentioned, a little more skeptical - and this is from the man who predicted we would reach Mars by 2024, yes?
