"The pain from the scooter accident is always felt, even when I make movements in the rehearsal room of 'Dancing with the Stars', and even when I put a strip of weapon on my shoulder during the filming of the 'Kingdom' series."

Two and a half years have passed since the electric scooter accident, and actor and model Omar Dror is unable to overcome the intense pain he is feeling.

"The pain is always felt," he sighed.

"I have nerve pain, it is spread in the neck, back of the neck, shoulder, chest and shoulder blades. The fracture in the shoulder creates edema that will stay forever. It hurts all the time, there is no moment when it does not hurt, even when I talk to you "These days there are movements in the rehearsal room of 'Dancing with the Stars', and I was also in pain during the filming of the 'Queen' series (HOT) in which I play a soldier, when I put a strip of weapon on my shoulder. In fact, in all the activities of the day."

In July 2019, the front wheel of his scooter got stuck in a pit. He flew forward and crashed, leading to a year of daily coping, two surgeries and physiotherapy that continues to this day. Luckily he was wearing a helmet so the accident did not end more severely. "I flew forward about ten meters. I had two surgeries, irons, physiotherapy. To this day, I have spent hundreds of thousands of shekels on physiotherapy and medication and there is no other factor that covers it. It happened to me because of a hole in the road for which the Tel Aviv municipality is responsible. "I sent a letter to the municipality demanding that they help me with the rehabilitation process but we did not receive any answer. They thought I was laughing at them, treated it as a joke. I have not yet decided if I want to sue them because a lawsuit is not simple and requires more expenses. It is difficult to have an accident in Israel." . (The Tel Aviv Municipality responded: "We do not know the issue and we will be happy to receive the full details of the case. In any case and most importantly - wish Omar full health").

Despite the physical pain, do you connect to ballroom dancing in "Dancing with the Stars" and dancing in general?

"Yes. When I was little there was a birthday party dance called Tectonic, in the spirit of the trendy dance that was on social media. As kids we were very enthusiastic about it and did the steps of it. So I have a background that is very hobby on the subject. I never did it professionally and never went anywhere. Ballroom dance class. In contrast, my partner Naya Federman studied with Anna Aronov for two years so she helps me a lot and balances me because the ballroom elements are engraved in it. Rehearsals for the program are very intense. The competition is very felt. "Themselves in the world of prime time and it is important for them to bring us to the limit."

These days, Omar Dror - who started his career as a star of children and youth - is starring in the second season of the crime drama "Malchut" (Thursdays at 8:15 PM on HOT3, HOT VOD and Next TV). In the series, signed by Gal Zeid, Ruthi Zeid and Danny Rosenberg as lead creators and screenwriters, Itai Morag as director and Endmol Shane on the production, Omar Dror plays Shahaf, Nina's mythological ex, played by Nofar Salman.

"'Kingdom' is a project that women are the ones leading, and not just women but women in a world of crime, which is supposedly in a stereotype meant for men. For me, in my career, being a partner in a sensational project like 'Kingdom' is a real pride for me. I am proud to participate in "A creator like Gal Zaid, who made wonderful works for adults. I feel it is a very high-quality foothold in the adult world, and constantly thank you for the opportunity I was given, and that they were able to see me fit into the puzzle of this wonderful story."

I know the creators of the series were debating whether to continue with your character in the second season as well, and it is not obvious that they decided not only that the character continues but even grows this season.

A connection is made again between your character and Nina with a strange romantic story between them.

What does all this mean for you?

"I think this story very, very much reflects our lives because in our lives it is impossible to predict when people will actually leave our lives, and when we will encounter everyone. Just like what happens to young people who enter the military, Nina suddenly realized she was with me on the same base. So even though she wanted to I'm going to jail and not see me again - she's hitting me again, and life surprises us again. That's how we both deal with it in a special way, but all the hardships involved, Nina is in her own complications. And to protect Nina. "

"I really will not agree to film a campaign with my exes. If they offer a campaign I will only agree with my current partner, Naya Federman"

Your character last season was pretty vicious. This season is discovering more of its good side. How is she similar and how is she different from you?

"I had partners. Many times couples break up in anger. And I can very much identify with the character, no matter what happened, and even Shanina put me in jail, still keep a room in my heart for me. And even if I'm in the worst place, I'll make sure she's well and To bring her to the best place. That's how I can say about all the friendships I've had in my life, whether she's female or male. I still keep a room of good feelings in my heart for all the friendships I've had. To meet old loves, there is still a desire to bring them to a good place. In my attitude to my old loves there is no anger and no hatred. And it was amazing to see Nina and Seagull, who despite what happened between them in the first season Action out of necessity. "

In reality, would you collaborate with your ex who at the time you filmed a campaign with, and agree to do a joint campaign with her even today? Your current girlfriend, Naya Federman, will flow with it?

"Absolutely not. If they offer a campaign then I will only agree with my current partner. And there will be no joint work with the exes. But I do not hate anyone."

Gal Gadot bought the rights to produce an American version of "Malchut." It is not yet clear if this will happen - someone wrote an English version but the scripts were not good enough and it was replaced. As a former model alongside Gadot - did you get to talk to her about it?

"The truth is that I did not get to talk to Gal about this project. Gal knows what to be interested in. This project really has entertainment potential in the United States, I think it really needs to go up there. During the time I worked with Gal she helped me a lot and was very supportive. My way, projects challenged me, and she gave me backing and advice, and she was a very pleasant woman and attentive to the environment and that's what makes her very accurate in her work. I could not guess at the time that she would become the biggest Israeli star in the world. "She worked very hard and she is very talented. Such people deserve to succeed."

Last summer, Dror contracted Corona, resulting in the loss of a role in the hot-tempered "Ziggy" youth series, which for him is further proof that "the entertainment industry is very unstable." "I lost a lot of work in plays and lectures because of the Corona's limitations. There are a lot of difficulties in the entertainment industry."

Your partner, Naia Federman, was also infected with Corona.

How did you get the disease?

"I experienced it like any normal flu, a bit of a cold and a headache, but Naia unfortunately experienced it harder. She lost her sense of taste and smell for two weeks, and her body was more in pain than mine."

"I was rehearsing for three years and learning French for a film about Mike Burnett. I gave up other projects for him and missed a lead role in 'O Boy'. At the end of the film he fell. And I didn't get a single shekel. The entertainment industry is unstable."

By the way, you moved in together. It's time, your mom is not getting any younger!

"The family is very happy that our love is stepping up. Of course my family is very supportive of the relationship that is so true for their child. I feel that hatred is my most exacting love. I feel I am in my comfortable place. It gives me a family atmosphere."

In August, she meets with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, along with other network stars, and as part of an effort to encourage youth to get vaccinated against Corona. What happened at the meeting and how did you feel about it?

"True, it was part of the campaign to encourage immunization. After the heavy closures, which caused huge economic losses in the Israeli market, there is really nothing to do, this is the alternative to being a free man. Bennett is a very, very kind man, with feet on the ground, and he did not give us a sense "He's talking about us. It really surprised me for good."

One of the most painful blows to Dror's career came when a film starring legendary singer Mike Burnett and directed by Ethan Fox was abruptly canceled.

The project went down the drain after the music star's brother, Zvika Brand, who owns the rights to his estate, prevented the project.

"There was a copyright issue," Dror says.

"I was rehearsing and learning French for the role for three years. And unfortunately, after working on it for three years and also giving up projects for this film, it did not happen. I was offered a lead role in the 'O Boy' series and because of the film I did not take the role, "And at the end of the film, he fell. I had no income for three years. This is life."

At least you got some pay for your much work on the film, even if it went down the drain?

"No, I did not get a penny. What I have to say is that the entertainment industry is unstable. There is nothing to do but deal."

Gal Ohovsky was supposed to be involved in making the film. Have you also experienced harassment or inappropriate treatment from him?

"God forbid. Gal is a lovely man to me. I have not experienced anything like this."

Regardless, you have previously testified in an interview that you have experienced sexual harassment in the industry.

"I think every person experiences in some form of harassment, verbal or physical that for me is equivalent, it is an wrong thing that has no place, and it is important to put the red lines at that moment, not in court. Harassment happens in our lives not just in the entertainment industry. This, I say - let's try to respect every person as he is and his personal and protected space. "

Participation in "Malchut" and soon also in "Dancing with the Stars" somewhat strengthens Dror's presence in the adult world, although he is still mostly identified with the world of children and youth and modeling.

He excelled as a model of apparel companies (TNT, Castro), and in the world of children and youth starred in series ("Champions", "The Nerd Club", "Double"), in the film ("Almost Famous"), in directing ("Boys and Girls", "Escape") And on stage (festivals).

Sucks to you that you are mostly identified with the world of children?

"Absolutely not. I'm happy to be identified with the world of children. I think it's the most important in the entertainment industry because it educates and nurtures the next generation. For me it's much more fun to stay in this world. The children are eternal, so to speak. "

"I gained 8 pounds in Corona. If I believed in the story and the character I would agree to put on a lot more weight for a role."

In August 2020 it was reported that you broke up with your agency, Sarit and Lawrence, after ten years. What was the reason for this?

"There's no real reason. It's business. It's like a partnership, and I wanted to replace a partner in my business, for my own business considerations."

A year ago, you said that since the outbreak of the corona, you have gained about seven kilos. Would you agree to put on a lot more weight, insanely, for a role?

"True, I even gained 8 pounds in the Corona. Listen, in the end what we do is art, and art comes to present different sides of the world and society. ".

What is your next dream?

"I have a dream to start a family. Actually, it's my biggest dream right now, the biggest goal. I'm already 28, I feel like the hormones my age have already changed. I don't crave the things I craved in the past. The soul has to create its next generation, no. Nothing will help. "

What do you regret - and what are you especially proud of?

"I regret that as a young kid who started his career in the entertainment industry I gave up on projects I thought I could not carry out due to congestion. For example, if I entered the series and was accepted for another series, I was afraid I would not be able to handle the congestion. Today I regret not taking both projects. I see Myself today as someone who can handle an actor's load for example learning a lot orally. It has to do with old traumas as a child, preparing for a test and failing to cope with the learning load.

"I am proud to have been given the opportunity to work and perhaps educate and chart a more correct path for youth. I am proud of recent propaganda campaigns, for example for Let, which talks about Holocaust survivors living below the poverty line. "Integrated and less separated by concrete walls like in our country. It was important for us to show that Judaism has many shades, and our society will also know how to accept the different.
