Switch between cellular companies without waiting for a SIM card:

According to a report from the Brazilian technology blog Blog do iPhone, the iPhone 15 - to be announced in 2023 - will not support the tiny plastic card that goes into a "drawer" on the side of the smartphone, but on the eSIM.

eSIM is the same small, smart and encrypted chip that you are familiar with from your regular SIM card, and has actually migrated into the device.

The tiny card, designed to store the user's "cellular identity", is embedded in the body of the device at the time of manufacture and is not removable.

Activation is done through a dedicated application of the cellular companies, or by scanning a QR code.

And while Israel is gaining ground, eSIM is widely used in a number of countries around the world, which also allows customers to quickly switch between cellular companies - without having to wait for a physical card.

The move to eSIM also makes it possible to purchase a communication package abroad from Israel.

The current report comes against the background of another announcement that the iPhone 14 series, which will be launched next year, will arrive without a charging socket (Lightning). The devices are expected to support charging using Magsafe, charging technology Wireless integrated with a strong magnetic linkage that exists from the iPhone 12 series
