GdP boss: Police work suffers from high expenditure for corona demos
The effort for the police in the many demonstrations against the Corona policy affects the rest of the police work.
The high level of effort due to numerous demonstrations and so-called walks may require "other police tasks to be neglected, for example in traffic monitoring," said the chairman of the police union (GdP), Oliver Malchow, the newspapers of the Funke media group.
“You can do that.
The question is, how long will the citizens accept it if some get away with certain offenses because the police can no longer pursue them. ”He feared that this would lead to a loss of trust in the police.
"I'm afraid that the police will become even more of a lightning rod for angry citizens," added the GdP chief.
On Monday, tens of thousands of people took to the streets against Corona restrictions in numerous cities.
With a view to the highly contagious Omikron variant of the rapid booster vaccinations for the officers, Malchow demanded.
In order to ensure operational readiness, it is necessary "that the police boost promptly," said Malchow.
This is already going well.

Data protection officer considers vaccination register possible
1 a.m .
:
The Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ulrich Kelber, considers the introduction of a national vaccination register as part of a general vaccination requirement to be feasible.
"A national vaccination register is not impossible under data protection law," Kelber told the newspapers of the Funke media group.
However, politicians must first specifically name the goals they want to achieve with compulsory vaccination so that one can judge whether a central vaccination register is necessary.
"Then the necessary data collection and processing must be clarified, together with the necessary protective measures."
