Mediterranean: postponement of the installation of wind turbines requested during public debate

Thousands of people of "all categories and all ages" took part in this debate from July 12 to October 31.


Many participants in the public debate on the installation of floating wind turbines in the Mediterranean asked for the postponement of this project in order to better study its effects on the environment, according to a report published on Friday, December 31 by the organizers of the debate concluded at the end of October.

Floating wind farms from 2022

For her part, the Minister of Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili defended the government calendar in Marseille during one of the public meetings: “

During the debate, only the State, the RTE electricity network manager, the regions and a large part of the industrial sector, defended the timetable desired by the government, Étienne Ballan explained to AFP at the end of October.

On the other hand, defenders of the environment, fishermen, scientists, local elected officials or boaters have come out in favor of a postponement.
