Thousands flocked to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, or CES for short, on Wednesday.

The world's largest trade fair for technology and innovations is once again attracting visitors on site after a one-year break.

The fair was canceled last year.

Quotes:

“It's really exciting.

I feel pretty safe.

It's quite busy but a lot of action has been taken and it's safe to keep your distance.

I think it's fine. "

“When you think about what's going on here, you always worry too.

When you have been vaccinated and boosted, you feel good and can come to the events.

It was a long time.

I think people are excited to see the new trends and technologies, just to be here live, to meet people.

So that's a good feeling. "

"It's breathtaking.

I have no concerns about Corona.

I am vaccinated, I wear my mask and we take great care to wash our hands and so on.

I have no concerns. "

For a long time now, CES has not only shown technology gadgets and new televisions, but more and more mobility products and projects.

The American arms company Sierra Nevada is looking far into the future: The Dream Chaser spaceship is scheduled to begin its maiden flight into space at the end of the year and at some point also head for a private space station - which, however, does not yet exist.

Sony's announcement that it will be involved in the electromobility market with its own cars is much more grounded.

The car manufacturer TOGG presented the first car produced in Turkey.

And BMW has an electric SUV that can change color thanks to electronic ink.

The agricultural technology manufacturer John Deere presented a fully autonomous tractor.

Farmers should be able to control the 14-ton vehicle from a distance with an accuracy of 2.5 centimeters, according to the manufacturer.

Even if the number of visitors to the CES will probably not reach the pre-corona level - the technology industry is one of the big winners of the corona pandemic.

Many tech companies are already looking at a time when the pandemic will no longer dominate everyday life - and they can all be represented in Las Vegas again.
