There are two pandemics currently underway in Italy at the same time: one is the pre-existing one caused by the Delta variant and the other is the more recent one due to the Omicron variant: "if the latter manages to take over the former, perhaps we will be able to see the descent of the epidemic curve in the space of a few weeks ".
This was stated by the director of the 'Mario Negri' Institute, Giuseppe Remuzzi, in the Rai3 broadcast 'Half an hour more'.
