They had only gone out to walk the dog.
A woman in her fifties and her 21-year-old son were found dead on Monday after disappearing on Sunday afternoon in the Payrin-Augmontel sector south-west of Castres (Tarn), according to our information.
It was the husband of the disappeared who then gave the alert.
Around 3 p.m. on Sunday, Cécile and her son Florian left their house in Pont-de-Larn to walk the dog.
Shortly after 6 p.m., the husband, worried not to see them return, indicates the Dépêche du Midi, finds the car a handful of kilometers away, near a playground on the edge of the river in Payrin-Augmontel.
Research continued through the night with the help of a tracking dog.
Florian's jacket was found near the playground, while the dog returned home alone, according to information from the regional newspaper that Le Parisien can confirm.
Research complicated by bad weather
This Monday, divers from the gendarmerie were dispatched to probe the Thoré River, but their work risked being embarrassed by the bad weather that has been sweeping down the South-West for several days.
Cécile and Florian were finally found at "the level of a small hydroelectric power station, a few hectometers from the place of their disappearance on Sunday", according to our information.
Autopsies will be performed soon to determine the cause of death, even if drowning seems to be the most likely.
