Jean-Luc Mélenchon was convicted on Tuesday for public insult and defamation for calling France Info journalists “morons” and “liars” after an investigation by Radio France's investigative cell into his 2017 presidential campaign.
The leader of rebellious France and presidential candidate for next April was sentenced to a suspended fine of 500 euros and will have to pay 3,000 euros in damages to Radio France.
