Last night, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid was diagnosed with the corona virus. A statement issued on his behalf states that "Lapid is staying in his home in isolation and feeling well." Lapid had earlier announced that following exposure to his security guard who had been diagnosed as verified, the Yesh Atid faction meeting had been canceled. Lapid clarified: "I feel great because I am vaccinated," and called for getting vaccinated and putting on a mask: "We'll get through this together."
Lapid attended a cabinet meeting yesterday morning and sat next to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, with the rest of the party leaders in the room. Documentation from the yeshiva also included a cough, after which Bennett was seen walking around smiling with the side from which the cough was heard, in which Lapid was sitting. A spokesman for the Prime Minister later announced that Bennett had been tested in an antigen test that came out negative. This is despite the new recommendations presented today by the Ministry of Health designed to streamline and refine home antigen tests. As part of the recommendations, users are asked to be tested three days after exposure to a verified patient,Using a first sample from the throat and then from one of the nostrils - from the same stick.
