Amazement and trauma this Friday evening in Roujan, a small town of 2,000 inhabitants located north of Béziers (Hérault).
Two women were killed with several stab wounds, shortly after 7 p.m., reveal our colleagues from Midi Libre.
The drama would have been tied in a small building located rue du Jeu de ballon.
A suspect, believed to be the double murderer, was arrested by the gendarmes. “The defendant, the partner of one of the two victims, was arrested by the gendarmerie in the family restaurant opposite the apartment where the facts took place, specified the public prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland, stressing that the nature of the weapon remains to be determined, even if it is undoubtedly a knife”.
One of the two victims is said to be in his twenties.
Expected on the spot in the evening, the public prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland, confirmed "a double homicide".
The two victims were, according to initial information, neighbors on the second floor of this small building located in the heart of the village.
According to the regional daily, one of the two victims is the daughter of one of the village traders.
Neither the alleged murderer nor his companion were known to the police or gendarmerie, "whether as the perpetrator or as the victim", insisted the Béziers prosecutor.
The family of the young woman confirmed to the investigators that they had never heard of either a blow or a threat against her.
"My son killed them, it's awful"
The presumed author of the stab wounds, he could be, still according to Midi Libre, the son of a restaurateur whose table is located in this small street, a few meters from the scene of the tragedy.
Contacted by the local newspaper, the father of the alleged murderer said he was "appalled by what has just happened, especially for these two women and their families".
“My son had not been well for a few days.
He has a split personality (…) He killed them, it's terrible.
This morning, he was arrested by his doctor who also saw that he was not well and that he had to rest, ”he reveals, in shock.
Placed in police custody, the alleged perpetrator of the stab wounds was employed in a supermarket.

“Everyone says he fled.
It's not true.
He arrived at our house telling us that he had done something stupid.
We kept him so he wouldn't leave and we called the emergency services, ”assured the restaurateur, before being heard by the gendarmes.
According to the latest report from the Ministry of the Interior, 113 women died under the blows of their spouse or ex-spouse in 2021. They were 102 in 2020. Since the beginning of the year, at least four women have been killed by their companion or former companion, in Maine-et-Loire, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Seine-Saint-Denis and Alpes-Maritimes.
