The first elements of the investigation into a double murder committed Friday evening in the Hérault are known.
The public prosecutor of Béziers made them public this Saturday.
At the end of the day on Friday, two people were found dead in an apartment in Roujan, a town located northeast of Béziers.
They were discovered after a bloodied 22-year-old took refuge in his parents' restaurant.
The establishment is located near the scene of the tragedy.
The alleged perpetrator, employed in a supermarket, was arrested in the process.
He had been living for ten months with one of the victims, a 21-year-old student nurse.
The second person who died is a 25-year-old neighbor.
With his parents, the young man said he "did something stupid".
The prosecutor specifies that findings were made “until late at night”.
Raphaël Balland announces that the autopsies will be carried out on Monday.
stab wounds to the neck
According to the statements of the defendant during his police custody, he said he suffered from "psychological problems" for which he was being followed, but that he had been feeling "very badly for several days". He says he smoked several cannabis joints on Friday afternoon with his girlfriend. He would then have started "to be very afraid, having the impression that we wanted to kill him", according to the terms used in a press release issued by the prosecutor. The suspect's partner would have dissuaded him from going to see a psychologist, causing an argument between them, still according to her statements.
The argument would have degenerated into a fight.
The alleged perpetrator would have "stabbed his concubine several times, particularly in the neck".
He evokes a “delirious, panicked state”.
A neighbor from the floor above comes down at this time to walk her dog and offers her help “in her capacity as an ambulance”.
Another fight would have broken out and, there too, the second victim would have received several stab wounds.
The father of the alleged perpetrator himself called the emergency services.
He says his son's behavior has changed since he started smoking cannabis.
The judicial and law enforcement authorities say they were not aware, until now, of a possible threat that their alleged murderer could have presented.
