Pollution worsens Covid-19 infections

At the start of the pandemic, in the spring of 2020, researchers from the University of Turin (Italy) assumed that there was a link between air pollution and the increased spread of Covid-19. After several months of study, researchers from the University of Insubria in Varese (Italy) have established a link between an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases among the populations most exposed to air pollution, by studying the role of several pollutants (fine particles 2.5 micrometers in diameter or PM2.5, PM10, nitrous oxides and tropospheric ozone). They established that an increase in concentration of 1 microgram per cubic meter of air of PM2.5 increases the rate of Covid-19 infection by 5%, in an article published online on January 10, in the journal
